San Francisco elopement

On October 5th I had the privilege of attending a dear friends very secluded San Francisco elopement. With only 5 people including bride and groom, Nicole and Jon tied the knot in Sutro Forest, right in the heart of the city. I have never been a part of something so honest and beautiful as this ceremony. Thank you Jon and Nicole for giving me the privilege of attending your wedding- it was an honor! wedluxe feature – autumn splendor

We are beyond excited to finally show you some images from this shoot that got featured on the WedLuxe blog. It doesn’t get better that working with some of the best vendors in Edmonton to create some seriously beautiful images. Stef and I were inspired by the colour pallet chosen for the shoot and Stefanie decided to colour our fabulous model Kristina‘s hair a peachy pink and then I kept the same tones running through the makeup. I used the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette on Kristina’s eyes to get the perfect English rose eye look. short hair tutorial: elegant updo

Today we are crazy busy with 2 weddings this morning but of course not too busy to bring you our newest summer short hair tutorial of an elegant updo. We wanted to prove that even with short hair it is still possible to achieve an elegant updo perfect for a wedding, prom or any elegant event you are attending. alee cd cover photo shoot

Since Big Valley Jamboree is happening this weekend and the lovely Alee is playing the country festival we thought it only fitting to do a #throwbackthursday to the photo shoot for her CD cover with Nicole Ashley. These images are some of my favourites as it had a beautiful floral crown that I crafted and then went into a more sultry edgy look.I gotta tell you it is pretty cool seeing your name on the CD sleeve. Of course it wouldn’t be a shoot with Stef and I if there weren’t some shenanigans (last photo). We loved working with Alee and she is an amazing artist and her crazy long hair and legs don’t hurt either! BtB picks: best full coverage concealer

I am always on the hunt for the “perfect” full coverage concealer and I think that my search is finally over. When I went to LA IMATS with Stef I purchased 2 shades of the OCC skin conceal. OCC is a vegan and cruelty free brand which is amazing and I noticed that it doesn’t make me break out at all. I have very sensitive and breakout prone skin and some concealers (MAC Studio Finish concealer cough cough) make me break out almost instantly. Full coverage concealers are perfect for covering up hyperpigmentation, tattoos, scarring and very red pimples. I purchased 2 colours to that I could create a custom blend depending on if I was tanned.. aka using St. Tropez.. or my regular pale self. The 2 colours I have are YO and R1. The best part about these concealers are that they are super pigmented and you need only the tiniest amount of product. I have tried them under my eyes but found them to be a tad too thick for my personal taste and have stuck to using them just on my blemishes. *from my knowledge in Edmonton you can’t purchase the concealers in-store but OCC does ship to Canada or you can purchase them through Sephora online. Temptalia did a great post with swatches of all the shades to make it easier to figure out which one or two to order

Another throwback Thursday to a wedding that Stef and I did hair and makeup for in 2012 for an old friends Natalie and Jose. The wedding got featured on Wedding Obsession as “Soft Pink Chic Rustic Wedding”

SIIINES music video

In December I did the makeup for over 60 gorillas (aka black out their eyes so their skin matched the mask) for the SIIINES new music video for their single “God I hate Clubs”. Doing this was no small feat considering how much I dislike bananas and there were so many bananas being thrown about. Loved working with the guys though it was a pretty fun Sunday.
